How you use screens in the hours before bed deserves its own attention, both for eye comfort and overall sleep quality. Reducing screen brightness in the evening, using night mode or warm color settings available on most devices, and simply cutting off screen use 30 to 60 minutes before bed can meaningfully improve both how your eyes feel and how well you sleep.
Some people find that reading on a screen right before bed leads to more eye fatigue than reading a physical book, largely due to the combination of close-range focus and light exposure right when the eyes and brain are supposed to be winding down.
